Welcome to TDOA

The Tennessee Dispensing Opticians Association is the only state association working on behalf of all Opticians in Tennessee. We are the only education provider in the state to support legislation that maintains a State Board of Dispensing Opticians and licensing dispensing opticians. We are the only education provider to spend money on maintaining a lobbyist and attorney to monitor the legislature in an effort to make sure that any new bills that are introduced are for the good of the optician and consumers of Tennessee.

Volunteer Opticians needed for a free medical mission in Nashville on February 19th and 20th at McGavock High School for patients without health care. The mission will include free optometry services, dental services, and medical services. We expect to see around 2500 patients for free in a two day period. We'll make 400 glasses for patients each day, identify ocular disease, check for glaucoma, provide dental extractions, fillings, cleanings and provide well care and sick exams all for free. We also plan on providing free mammograms, STD testing, diabetic testing, bone density testing, and pap smears.
